Going Gaga Over – Ubabub

Wednesday, June 23rd, 2010

Who said one must compromise style for practicality? Natasha & Daniel Dumais certainly didn’t when they designed Australia’s newest nursery furniture brand Ubabub. Ticking all of the boxes stylish, practical, safe, durable, ecologically friendly and did I mention stylish? With a distinctly modern aesthetic, the carefully designed and constructed pieces not only add a streamlined modern edge to the nursery but also bring extra comfort and freedom to parents and babies. Both the Pod and Nifty grow with your child from a cot to toddler bed with the addition of a bed kit, which means you get a good 5 years use, and that’s just for one baby.

Ubabab is available for pre-order at Bebe, due in store later this month

Going Gaga Over – Casa Cabana

Tuesday, June 8th, 2010

Every child wants to be boss of their own little space! This is the new recycled cardboard house from Kidsonroof! It is white, with windows, doors and a letter box. It is available in two colourways; nature print or white that you can decorate yourselves, let your children’s’ imagination run wild, as they create their very own space to be used as cubby, shop, hospital or wherever their imaginations can take them. The house is made from recycled paper – 100% bio degradable.

Kidsonroof is the result of teamwork between Romy Boesvelt and Ilya Yashin. Their principal source of inspiration comes from weekends spent in the natural environment around their mountain hut. And surrounded by their little blonde-haired children, the couple developed their collections. Ecology and protection of the environment are their main preoccupations, so all the products are produced in recycled cardboard. They also ensure that there’s plenty of opportunity for children’s own creativity: the building game in cardboard, a dragonfly to assemble, mushrooms pushing up from the foot of the tree, all the products in the Totem series can be mixed, matched and combined.
